Hi, I am looking for some advice on auto wiring.
I’m converting an International KB2 from 6v +ve earth to 12volt negative. Everything is good except the instruments. All the bimetallic strips in the instruments were burned out. I guess the previous owner jumped it with 12 volts. I repaired this and all the instruments work with a 6v voltage stabilised transformer. Ground the sensor wire and the gauge moves full scale.
However connect the sensors wire to , admittedly a 12v sensor the gauges don’t move from their off start position.
What have I missed?
Any pointers greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I am ordering the 6v sensors but they will be a while coming across the Atlantic!

The new gauges are 12V designed for a modern car ? -
The gauge manufacturer should specify the correct sensor that is calibrated for that gauge. I always buy supplementary gauges and sensors as a pair. If you let me know what gauges you have bought i can have a look
