I've just come across a post saying that the new AM2E will be starting from October.

Apparently there's already an AM2S as well the normal AM2.

Does anyone know what is different between the 3 assessments?

Surely it should just be the same practical assessment for all electricians looking to qualify?
 
AM2 don't have any conduit bending
AM2S has PVC - bubble set & 90 degree bend. Galvanised - off set & three 90 degree bends

AM2E apparently is for people doing the experienced route.
