Was putting up an outside wall light the other day. Found this chap creeping up the wall next to me. Reckon it’s one of those false widow arachnids.

Having been out in the garden a lot installing a fence I've seen all sorts of the blighters, green ones, white ones, the mini spiders hanging off branches in the corner of your eye making you think they're a fly to be swatted hovering too near your head. In the news a while back someone had an unfortunate reaction to a false widow bite and died but it's one of those one in a million-billion things where they were allergic.

It needs a wash, it's filthy.... Tell it off for being lazy...

And yes, they are huge...

Must admit, said spider, did bite the dust. Spiders don’t normally bother me, but this critter continued to lurk and was a distraction.
I think we need a separate thread entitled ‘Critter Encounters’ for all the life forms we come across in lofts, under floorboards and in gardens :) Saw a nice big rat in a garden yesterday.
