Afternoon all.

I've been quite bored this afternoon to be honest so I've been having a bit of a play about and come up with a simple cable calc sheet.

I was wondering if any of you good souls would be willing to give me a bit of feedback on it just to see what you think really. PM me your e-mail address if you're up for it.

Cheers.:D

Well Lenny had a good look through your calc sheet hoping to find something wrong with it (only joking).
But seriously it seems to be very well set out and easy to follow and all relevant information appears to be on it with references to the tables in the regs where required.
It will make cable selection a less daunting process for a lot of people as you have laid it all out step by step.
The only thing I might suggest you add is just a defintion of (Iz) and (It) as you have explained (Ib), (In) etc.

Thanks mate.:D

If all feedback is positive then I'll make it a sticky for all the forum to see.

I'm with Sintra.

Think it's really good, don't ever remember seeing anything like it when I was learning.

Think we should stick a plug for the forum on it and then email to a mate of mine who lectures 2330 at a college. Think he would find it an excellent resource for handouts etc.

Any views?

Jim

You wont have seen it before Jim.....I've only just made it:D

Thanks for the positive reply, I wouldn't mind letting your mate have a copy if it would help.;)

That was my point, it's great I wonder why I'd never seen one before!!

Very handy ready reference, got it saved for future reference. Many thanks for collating the info.

Had a look Ben, as others have stated its a handy thing to have:cool:.
Have you considered putting it into a spreadsheet whereby all you have to do is enter the relevant data & it crunches a number out at the end?;)

Seeing as the feedback is positive I've got a couple of other things in mind......one being a spreadsheet version of the print off and play one, and 1 or 2 other things.

Cheers

Think a spreadsheet version (that did the calculations) would be really good, although you couldn't print it off an take it with you.
