I had 1st & 2nd fix on my extension done by a local sparks. It has taken about a month to get a cert from him even though he was paid in full, and even now it is dated incorrectly so I am waiting again now for a replacement.
I got 3 pieces of paper;- 1) Schedule of Test Results, 2) Electrical Installation Certificate, 3)Particulars of Signatories To The Electrical Installation Certificate.
The test cert is dated Dec 2007 which was the 1st fix, there is no other test certificate.
I did query this with him on Sat, he said that it was to test the circuits. I thought he did do another test at 2nd fix completion so surely I should have this to show the building inspector?
Is it normal not to provide a test certificate for the second fix? Incidentally some of the connections he had made to downlights had loose (arcing) connections, I also queried this and as I recall, he said that testing only shows up continuity and earthing, so what use is testing anyway?

You should have an Electrical Installation Certificate, Schedule of Inspections, and Schedule of Test Results

The testing should be all be done at the end of the instaalation, and the inspection as it is going along, you would not have two sets of certificates.

The testing is primarily to rpove the electrical safety of the circuit, although functionals should be carried out at the end. The neutral conductor, for example, is left out of most test

An EIC is issued upon completion of the work. So if first fix was december and 2nd fix was march the certificate should state march.

December 2007?? Thats a long time between 1st and 2nd fix or am I missing something.

Whys it in todays posts?????

Hahahha. I refuse to delete my post now its funny. I definitely missed something. Nearly did a big post about part p notification. Embarrassing
