I know we have great manufacturers here in GB, along with a fantastic international reputation for design. But I've had a week to test the faith.

Bought two new PIR lanterns; had to return one unit because the adjustment screws were missing. Got a twin fluorescent; it's been working intermittently for a week and I now have to go back and check it with a view to replacing it. Took a brand new tubular heater out of the packaging to find both the cover - and the element broken. Installed a three-pole fan isolator in a shower room; thought it was a bit tight at the time. Customer called next day to say the string had burst. Got a replacement which was even tighter, sent it back.

Maybe it's just coincidence, but it's damned frustrating in light of the time, effort and kudos I'm losing repairing and replacing all this stuff :mad2:

Not sure about the PIR lantern, sjhall, but the others were.

I don't want to come across as burning the flag or anything. Week-in, week-out most products are excellent, but I've just had a week of it and fancied a gripe :-(

i use timeguard PIRs and rarely have any problems at all.

I don't think any of those things are made in the UK anymore....maybe a UK company address on the box but that's about all....they just don't like to admit its not made in the UK as they can sell them for more then...
