Hi,

Can you just put my mind at rest, been to a house and by the looks of
it he loves down lights
On the upstairs he has

8 x 50 watts down lights
6 x 50 watts down lights
6 x 50 watts down lights
5 x 100 watts lights

Hes wants to add to this
8 x 50 watts down lights

So is this right.

28 x 50 watts down lights = 1400
5 x 100 watts lights = 500

total =1900 /230 = 8.2 apply diversity
66% = 5.4 amps
Its on a 1mm cable over about 20 meters
It this right.it seems like it should be way over.
Is it best to run a new circuit for the new down lights.

Cheers

I wouldn`t even hesitate running a new circuit if you can. We never tend to put more than 1200w on a lighting circuit. I think you may find it tripping often if you do decide to add to existing circuit.

Regards
