I was doing a job today, moving a few sockets in a domestic kitchen. Whilst doing my tests, I had the cover off the MEM Memera 2000. I checked the tightness of all the connections, and found that the screw for the 25mm 6181y live incomer to the isolator didn't appear to tighten.

There was no sign of thermal damage to the cable or the terminal, the cable appeared tight in the isolator (although that might be because of the way the cable has been bent into the terminal). Quite possible that the terminal had been over tightened on the original install, and the screw head snapped off, but no way to be sure, without taking things apart.

Anyhow's, I've informed the customer. So far as I'm concerned, it's a new isolator. Seen loads of these CU's installed, and plenty of used MEM ASN100 available on ebay, but I'm not really happy with installing used switch disconnectors etc.

Eaton UK tell me there's a compatible isolator - SPC MS 1001N - available, but can't find it on the wonder web.
Anybody, had same issue, and got this compatible isolator?

Cheers Pete, got my wholesaler on the case, but their first check on their system, the computer says no. I rang Eaton back and checked the given serial number, and they said it was an after market product, available specifically from them. It sounds very expensive, a new CU might be the same price! But it seems a bit ridiculous, just cos' of a suspect connection.

For future reference. This compatible isolator is available to order from Eaton via approved dealer/wholesaler. ÂŁ50 inc vat/carriage and 5 week lead time.
