Alright boys,

With this new install im putting in at work, i want to upgrade the current meter tails to 3 phases of equal CSA as i currently have a miss match of one 25mm phase, and two 16mm phases.....

I have new 25 tails raring to go but i'll need to snip the tags on the meter. I know this question has been done TO DEATH but I just want to clairfy for an industrial situation. Am i better off calling out G4S who seem to be the company who come and service, take the relevant recordings affiliated to our company etc, and ask them to come and upgrade, or..... shall i just cut the buggers and get on with it, and when the G4S man next comes to take some readings, just throw it in there " oh looks like were short on some tags there fella....." and hope he stick a few more on......

I know the general consensus in a domestic scenario would be get on with it, claim all innocence, (well i think thats the majority opinion.... :/ ) but i am a little more dubious in this situation.

Hope we are all having a happy monday!

cut em and go home, go back tomorrow and blame the night shift!

i have a collection of seals in the bottom of my bag that the fairys have snipped!

Phone them and ask them to supply you with a set of temporary seals. Tell them you're on a tight budget and not prepared to pay for their services. Not much they can do since they will have to prove you are in danger and not competent to make the disconnection or that you are trying to defraud them of current, hardly likely if you don't touch the meter......

If you want to do it properly and you're in the SSE area (which I think you might be) and you're registered with ELECSA, NIC, etc, phone them up and arrange to drive over to their depot between Farnham and Aldershot. They'll give you the temporary label "seals". Then you just e-mail them with seal numbers, address, etc when you're finished.

PM me if you want more details.

I wouldn't bother mate, just snip them and do the job. You can buy seals on eBay and seal it back up. I know they have ID numbers etc etc.
When have you ever seen a meter reader check the tags for an ID number??

OK, devil and angel argument emerging there, but i never really was one to behave myself, so ill whip the snips out. Cheers lads
