Not sure if it's the same in the regions you guys are in, but up here in Yorkshire it just seems to be disagreement after disagreement especially when it comes to other 'sparks' you've either undercut or stumble across whilst subbing.

Anyway, normally i'm clear in my own mind and just come on here to enhance my own view on said question. However, i've got a nationwide company (not electrical company but employ electricians) and the local electricians working for that firm in this area saying I'm wrong. Now it may sound a trivial question to some of you - and ill put my own answers and thoughts on after i've had some replies to see where I'm at.

The question regards EICR's or EIC's. I'll give you the 3 situations and just a Simple EICR or EIC next to A, B and C will do gents.

A) Static Caravan Brand New straight from the factory placed on PLOT 1.

B) Static Caravan on PLOT 1 sold to new customers (stays on same plot)

C) Static Caravan on PLOT 1 moves to PLOT 2

Seen as though i haven't had a response, i'll give you what i think and what i do, and my thought process behind it - and you can tell me if you think I'm right or wrong - apparently I'm wrong.

A) EIC - It's basically a new installation, and when and where it gets sited it will be its first time in use.

B) EICR - The static caravan hasn't moved, its just got new owners and/or is due for a re-test. Again likening it to a house.

C) EIC - The static caravan even though its not new, could be 1year old or 20 has moved plot ... and this doesn't necessarily mean the same site, it could have moved 300miles up or down the country to a new caravan park. Different parks have different earthing arrangements ect... so even though it's old i would do an EIC.

Thoughts? Agree or disagree?

Cheers, Mark.

A and C: I would say an EIC on the supply as that's been altered or changed and an EICR on the caravan itself as you haven't installed or altered the installation within it.

B: EICR.

You didn't get any answers because you didn't ask a question!

The new caravan must have an EIC from the manufacturer with live testing omitted.
Live testing must be carried out once connected obviously.

As for moving the caravan, again live testing must be carried out on all circuits to confirm compliance for ads as the supply will have changed. But a custom document to record this would be better suited than either the EIC or EICR paperwork.
