Unfortunately I am not finding the forum useful and the quality of adverts is a pain when viewed on my phone.

Tbh I agree with you Peter. It’s become an excessive advertising space, 90% irrelevant to electricians and makes the forum largely illegible due to the adverts.
It’s also very difficult to navigate, at least on the phone it is. It’s no longer the go-to place for electrical advice.

Its a vicious circle.

You dont log in, the ads start encroaching on the usable parts of the page... like inbetween posts, or popups. Since you haven't logged in for a while and haven't noticed... then more appear next time...
By the time you do actually log in.. its become unreadable.

There are many threads on the forum about ads.... and there are many solutions. such as adblockers, or paying a sub.... but the ads should never be in a position to make the forum unreadable. If this is the case, then @Dan can have a look and see if theres a problem.

The content of the (google and adchoices) adverts have never been relevent to the forum. Its just whatever the cookies on your particular machine allow. Either something youve searched for before, recent purchases or completely random... depends how you set up your browsing preferences in the first place.

Sponsor ads are there for everyone. These are the actual sponsors that contribute to the upkeep of the site. E2go, Quickwire, uheat etc.... are are not in any way a disruption to the layout

They're all legit google ads. They push content down often and people assume its gone over it. It doesnt it pushes it down. Other than the vignette.
