Putty Pads

Evening All,
Does anyone know what the regs regarding putty pads on new builds. I am used to fitting them in flats but not sure about current rules on two storey new builds.

The Fire Retardent pads that go inside dry lining boxes maybe?

Never heard them referred to as putty pads though!

I had thought they were probably slang for some sort of intumescent fire seal but there are not many clues in the original post!

I've fitted them in flats ,they have acoustic properties as well as fire rating but were only fitted on party walls with plasterboard divide .unless there specified for by architect can't see the point in fitting them if you have a brick wall between houses or if there detached .not sure what fire resistance they would provide with a dry lining box as appose to metal.

Did a kitchen in a fairly new scheme and it was semi detached houses where the kitchen had original socket outlets on party wall which if I can remember right was 3 layers of pink plasterboard then a 250mm or so gap then I presume the same at otherside

Thank you for the responses, another electrician made a passing comment about being fitted but nothing has been said by building control or architect so at the moment I won’t bother
