Rio A Poor Choice?

Been avidly watching the Olympics, as usual. Have to say, I am very disappointed with the attendances. Just watched the dressage final and ceremony, hardly a soul in the grandstands, same situation as many of the other disciplines. The Women's marathon was pathetically attended, methinks this was not a great choice of venue, or is it because, despite a supposedly burgeoning economy, most of the general public can't afford the ticket prices? Or is it another example of IOC enjoying a few too many free holidays courtesy of the Brazilian powers that be??

I've noticed the lack of crowd in most of what I've seen. The cameras even try to avoid showing you the stands now. The cycling indoor thing yesterday was shocking. More riders than supporters in the stands.

The Great Britain team have done us proud makes our footballers look pathetic. Cyclists in the velodrome were brilliant and Jade Jones winning another gold in the Taekwondo was outstanding a sport close to my heart.

It was on the news earlier that only 12% of tickets for the events were sold, and even less so far for the paralympics. I was watching show jumping earlier and they had bunched up all the people into two stands, the other two were totally empty.

Westward is dead right, they have all done a fantastic job and their country proud. What a contrast to the overpaid pre-madonna nancy footballers who were totally pathetic at the Euros, including "grandad" in charge, I wouldn't pay any other them in washers.
I understand that the Brazilian economy is not what it was when the decision was made, but to me it stinks. I really fear that the paralympics is going to be very badly attended, it is very worrying. Oh and Tel, your a miserable git as well.......
