Scruffiest / crime ridden place you've ever been?

I'll start this off, just to see what people reckon....
inner suburbs / downtown - Hamilton Ontario
Just off queen st in Auckland (mate was approached by a bloke with knife in broad daylight - ran away and the would be mugger just stood their gawping)
Some of the smaller villages/towns near Methil in Fife
Some of the "schemes" in Dundee...
Paignton in Devon...total dive....eurgh...
Taber in Alberta....local paper highlights where crime has been comitted this week...mainly meth, coke, robberies to buy coke etc...middle of nowhere......

Clifton in Nottingham was quite bad,when I worked there they were making a ****o involving a blonde and a horse in a house up the road,there was a knocking shop next door and to cap it all some scroat tried having the amber beacon off the roof of my van! When I collared him the cheeky git said he needed it for his van,mind you he backed off when I produced an axe and said I needed his scalp for my collection.

Attempted van breakin 3
Found bullets in one occupied flat - her BF was serving time
12 yr old kid came on site tried nicking our cable we chased him and got it back... 15minutes later 5 big black dudes came on site with baseball bats and knifes telling us if we ever chase their kid again they kill us and what is ours is theres as its their area and we are in it...

We finished that flat off and cancelled the rest of the contract the risks weren't worth it... apparently we were the 6 contractor to walk after hassling from the locals.

Sparkhill/Sparkbrook in Birmingham................... gangs of multicultured people hanging around most corners....... it's the kind of place where you don't give eye contact or break down in your car.

i wouldnt drive through there after dark, never mind work there. most areas in leeds are bad but this is the worst.

In 1[SUP]st[/SUP] place is Iran. It’s not a nice place. For obvious reasons there are no tourists in Iran. Not without a military escort anyway. It has a reputation for religious intolerance and entrenched sexual inequality. At football games, police officers technically break the law every time they dragged a rape victim onto the pitch at half-time to be beheaded. The place is full of drug smugglers, drug addicts and big bearded Afghans with guns. Ninety percent of the worlds heroin comes through Iran. The smugglers are ruthless and well armed. Most of the drugs used to be carried by motorbikes across the desert at night without lights, but the army discouraged this means of transport by digging long lines of trenches. So now they have a more imaginative solution. They train camels to home in on a location in the desert like pigeons. They then surgically implant several kilograms of opiates into their humps and release them on the Afghan side of the border. It is simply impossible for the government to account for every camel wandering through the desert. Everyone you talk to is interested in your opinion of the country and people you’ve only just met will ask personal questions like “how much do you earn?” and “how many tribes of women do you own?”.
In joint 1st place is Thamesmead in London. Better known locally as the slums. All I can say is “What a hell hole. The place is full of drug addicts and bandits. On foot one has to travel along the central reservations so as not to get flattened by slabs of concrete which they throw from balconies. On the buses it’s best to wear full body armour. It’s not uncommon for someone to take pot-shots at a bus just for fun.

I worked stonebridge estate harlesden. rough as they come. Crack factories, burnt out cars, burnt out flats. Shops you had to point through a perspex screen to what you wanted. never fazed me then when I was young lol. Estate bulldozed now though lol.
