An estate agent has asked me to price up some work in his new office.

8 desks:-2 x double socket at each desk
1 cat 5 point and 1 telephone point at each desk
about 10 lengths of skirting trunking and accessories etc.
2 x 5' luminaires
1 x telephone point in a room + 1 extra cat 5 point.
Alarm System.

I went in really low in the understanding that i would be getting the maintainence contract on a load of properties.

All in £2200(.Not including the data cabinet.)

He tells me this is way too expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is extending his office at some point as well.
There is the gas head in the office which he wants moved to back of office......won't cost him much apparently!!

But to top it all off,he wants the 3-phase head,which is in a toilet by the way,(also feeds 2 flats upstairs) moved 30 feet to the back of his office.
This nutter thinks it'll only cost him "a couple of hundred quid".:eek:

The maintainence contract might not be a good idea now that i've found out how ridiculous this man is.
Although estate agents do talk B.S for a living.

I'm tempted to name and shame................

He will be in for a shock as if this is the local DNO supply you can not touch it as it will have to be the DNO which will cost him more than couple hundred quid:D:D:D

Also the gas will need to be done by the gas board as the supply to the building will need isolating.

Sounds like a complete ----er.
 
just think of all those periodic s at 50 quid a piece you have missed out on now, and the maintenance of 10 a light switch 10 miles away from you. you know what they say about paying peanuts and getting monkeys. people never fail to amaze me when they expect everything doing for nothing. better off without it mate if he is like that
 
I bet his fees are not that cheap

I wonder what he says when people say he is too expensive
 
when you finish the job, i bet you have to spend an extra hour to chase the money, put this in the quote please...
 
Just an update on the estate agent.

He phoned my business partner back up and said someone quoted him £600.00 to do the job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My partner told him to take it and hung up!!!

I've came to the conclusion that another spark has taken a hit to do the job or once again some cowboy (that the part P scheme has supposedly eradiated) has undercut us.

When is the government going to get the message out into the public domain!!!!!!!!
