Today walked out to the van, to find some Pikey has walked off with my entire roof rack Rhino tube carrier included, Luckily I was half asleep and only got slightly more peeved mid morning . Don't know if it's a new scam in my area or whether it's more widespread. I'm around the Weybridge walton shepperton area, would replace their normal bolts with security ones if anyone lives near me

Sadly mate, I think that sounds more like a steal to order than chancer pikeys.

I've only heard of a couple of incidents of it over the last year or two - but will put the word about.

It is a bit of a pain in the backside. I'm ----ed but think I would be a little more annoyed if they had tried to get into the van and caused damage or loss of tools etc. It's typical though I'm changing my van soon and now have to buy a replacement for the few months I've got left with it. Stolen to order maybe I should get their number and get them to steal it back off the guy they've sold it too lol.

I have got used to putting on and taking off my roof rack on the occasions that I need it, bit of a pain reaching up to the roof on a VW T4 being a little shorter than the average, but no Bloody way are they nicking my gear.
One of the reasons I have tinted windows is so it makes it the little harder for the to get through the window if they tried.

House got broken into whilst I was asleep. Didn't have much at the time, first rented house. They took their time choosing which cds to take, which videos and the manual for the small, new from the catalog 1 month before tv which I still had to pay for, had no insurance. But the thing that still f***ing winds me up, I left the last cig I had on the coffee table for morning. Not only did one of the little bar stewards smoke it, died it out in my fluffing ashtray but left me 20p to pay for the fooking cig!!!! As I said it was my last cig, cheeky little focker. Can't have been a pickey, he wouldn't have left the 20 pence.

I'm sorry, there may be one or two who aren't theving scum (proably the 'real' ones with the horse driven caravans and that) but in general 95% of the 'travelling community' are criminals, it is absolutely in their nature... romany gypsies may have some sort of nomadic nature from centuries ago, but the pikeys are steeped in a tradition only of crime, and the only reason they 'travel' is so they don't have to pay any sort of tax and they can't be traced by police. Wherever I've been anywhere near them they use intimidation and their own stupid dialect to keep people from intduding on the (often private) property they have stolen as a temporary enclave.

Right well I'm £326 out of pocket now, new rack and new 4m VanVault tube carrier, what a pain. We had them trying to nick my mates copper today from his back garden. His son has taken out his van so there was nothing on the drive, I popped in for a tea and parked in the side street, sat at the kitchen table he sees a shadow walking along the side of the house through the window, we both got up and the guy ran!!. When we got out to the road there was another one wearing his uniform of cords loafers and slicked back black hair with an indistinguishable accent in a trilby hat, he had the cheek to say that my mate was being paranoid and that his mate was just looking in the trailer he had in the front garden with a load of stuff for the dump. Mate told him to **** off and go do some tarmacking then said sorry that'll be your kids doing that, we shall see if my m8s house is standing tomorrow idiot think his blood was up
