I haven't been here to this forum in years, but in my email I got a notification and logged in, and the message said something about posting a thread to let the forum know what I've been doing (to all the people who received the message, not just me).

I drove to Arkansas to go to a live music show, and while I was there, I accidentally got caught in a very large thunderstorm with tornadoes. The tornadoes weren't huge and severe, but even so, it was terrifying. I get terrified driving in thunderstorms because I can feel some kind of sensation from what I believe are probably static electric fields or something, in the clouds, which was most noticeable when I was camping outside in a tent and lying on the ground, with no roof overhead. That's vaguely relevant for an electricians' forum, which is why I decided to tell the story.

It’s maybe just the change in air pressure you are feeling rather than static electricity….. but it can feel really disturbing.

Can you give a quick review of the music gig?

I also felt the same thing whenever my car battery was having problems, though, a similar sensation from electricity doing weird things. The music show I went to was Jesse Welles at the Freshgrass show in Arkansas. I mainly wanted to just get an impression of what he was like at a live show. I had tried to go to a couple other live shows and wasn't able to, but for me, this was a big road trip and an adventure. As to the show, it was okay, but they don't even play the songs that are usually MY favorites at the shows, they usually play some of the ones that I am just so-so about. I don't care - I went there for a lot of reasons and really enjoyed going on a trip to anywhere that I haven't been before.

Also, with the electricity thing, my HAIR actually stands up. Individual hairs on my arms and on random places will stand up, but not all of them at once, just one random hair in one place at a time, so it's more like static fields instead of pressure changes.
