Mogga unless you go private snip there is a "consultation" period, but because your both over 40 it may be waived. I only know this as my nephew is 35, they have 4 little'uns and he asked for this, as the last was ahem, not planned. He was told by the GP that they had to wait and have this consultation period.

I had it done mate many moons ago, my youngest is 19 now, and I have to be honest it wasn't that bad at all, it was a little sore after for a couple of days, and once you get the test results back which back then was about 2 weeks away you go. What I will say is that it is the best thing you can do, as without that worry or the pill etc etc, the wife is normally a different person, well for a while any ways lol

I had mine done 25 years ago after the birth of our first child. We went through the counselling particularly as I was in my early 30’s. My doctor referred me to the Marie Stopes clinic. At the same time 3 other guys I worked with were going through the same thing. They went to the local hospital. I know who came out of it best, mine was done with micro surgery using a laser. An hour after it was done I was sat in a restaurant having a meal with the wife, back at work the next day. As for the other 3……

Vasectomy, Advice, Local UK Clinics, Marie Stopes International you can get NHS referral via your doctor.

One down side! Mine was done under a local aesthetic the smell when laser goes in is one I’ll never forget, especially as you know what it is! But I didn’t go through discomfort the others did.

Its dead easy just pop to you gp tell them what you're after + bob's your uncle, before you know it you be lying there with someone chopping bits off your gentleman jewels while they enquire about your holiday plans, week or so of gonads like melons + walking like clint eastwood + you'll be fine HONEST

ive heard it hurts like hell and can lead to your middle leg going limp, not worth the risk, theres plenty of rubber based products out there;)

I've read about a new keyhole technique that they do, apparently not as harsh as the original, check it out

Something I've also thought about

Had mine done Private about 25 years ago bit soe for a couple a days but nothing to write home about, During the chop i felt a bit sick in my stomach but could a been hunger. Was having lunch with the wife after about a hour.

I was done 6 years ago.

I was lying on the bed discussing gas boilers with the nurses whilst the seamstress [WAS A MAN] was cutting and sewing away. He was showing off a bit by pulling really long pieces of stitches through my sack :nono:.

I arranged for the wife to pick me up with a case of Stella in the front of the car, Was a nice journey home !!

Mogga, to hell with the idiots. Trust the people that have gone through it, Mayfair and myself have both had it done. And we’ve both made the same statement, sat with the wife having a meal just after it was done!

There’s always ill-informed idiots in this life, just don’t listen to them!
