Hi guys,
Not sure if this is the right place to ask since it's more of a general question. I'm looking for a bit of advice. I completed my level 2 and 3 a few years ago and I'm now looking to get into electrics full time. The problem I have is I have no on-site experience. I technically have...
I can't see why it would be an issue.
If they felt you could go straight on to level 3 and you've passed that course then why would it matter? As with most courses level 3 is basically level 2 but more in depth.
Did you know there's a level 1 electrical installation course? I didn't do that...
Hi
Currently I'm working in a warehouse as an order packer which is amazingly exciting . I'm looking for on-site experience as an electrician's mate around the Birmingham area. I've completed my levels 2 & 3 at college and obtained my ECS card along the way. I'll be looking to get my...
I think you're overthinking most of what you have to learn. Chill out and take it as it comes.
One of the easiest ways to learn formulas and transposition is by learning how to use formula triangles. Learn these first and the various formulas you need and build upon that.
It seems like a lot...
Completed this assignment in July. Make sure you check out all areas in detail and read the spec fully 10 times.

Hi guys,
I'm designing an installation as part of an assignment. For this assignement I need to install lighting and power in a new pool and cafe block.
I've pretty much finished up on the tables we need to fill in but I'm completely stuck when it comes to sockets. I have multiple radial...
How long did you take overall to complete everything? I had my practical exam last week. We were told we had a max of 15 hours, anything over 10 hours can only be marked as a pass. Maybe this is why you received a pass mark.
Don't go appealing anyway, you passed. Be happy with that and move on...
Just a suggestion, if you're not already, log every interation in regards to this issue, invoices, emails, telephone calls, quotes, issues, who, where, everything. You may not need a good chunk of it but its always good to have this info to hand.
Thanks for the advice so far.
It seems I was rather naive about CSCS cards. I assumed a CSCS card was a CSCS card, I didn't realise there's various types. Which should I be going for as trainee sparky?
I looked into getting trainee ECS but it seems you need employer sponsorship?
