Bit confused about this.
When a simple 4 pole isolater like this plastic wylex one, is rated at 100amp, does that mean, 100amp per phase? So it could have 300amps going through it...
4mm T&E circuits on 32amp breaker. Parts of the circuit run through ceiling, parts through trunking and possibly even the wall.
Current carrying capacity won't exceed 30amp.
Customer adamant they are fine because previous electricians have said they are fine.
What do you do? Tell him tough...
That's true, however in most cases what you can see of the cable is less than 50mm depth.
What I'm asking I guess is, all the circuits 1 to 5 I mentioned above, can in general constitute c3 because it met previous regs, however what if:
A. You know or can see it's less than 50mm or
B. You...
So I'm getting various responses to this depending on how things are interpreted.
Here's a scenario:
Assume property is a tenanted property.
Assume cables are run buried in walls/under plaster (depth unknown).
Which of these circuits merit a C2 if they are not RCD protected.
1. Lights
2...
That's what I thought also. Any reason it might not need bonding? Because I'm just looking at an installation some builders have done and they didn't bond it on purpose. So before I speak up I want to be sure.
Not sure on this one.
Mains water is coming up from the ground in lead pipe in bathroom. 2 inches of copper pipe before the stop tap. All pipework inside the house after stop tap is plastic.
Does that 2 inch of copper pipe before stop need mains bonding?
No CPC at switches or light points.
All lights are class 2 so a C3 on eicr.
But what do I write for r1r2, just a LIM? is that acceptable?
bit confused on this.
So basically I got scammed by a scheme again. I told them I want to register to do commercial installs and they registered me for eicrs, something I was able to do anyway.
So I've been doing domestic for years, and thought about upgrading with napit to commercial installs.
Apparently commercial work is not notifiable, only need to register for eicrs (which don't even need registering with a scheme anyway)
So, if I changed a CU or installed a circuit, 3 phase...
