    You should be doing a Bridge test or disconnecting sensitive equipment or putting it down as limited on test certificate.

    Needs further investigation mate, type of storage heater? Sounds like dual tariff heater the main element should be off peak and the balance element on peak seems like you have it wrong way. Get your head in the book for storage heaters not always straight forward

    Yes I am over the top with my caution, but I’m adapting and listening but each scenario is different isn’t it. Definitely stick to 10mm though for shower circuits not 16mm that must be a nightmare for a ground floor flat terminating ??

    It’s bad practice though isn’t it, when carrying out EICR’S I code it as a C3 with no thermal effects and downgrade mcb to 32A rather than the 40A installed. If I’m asked to replace faulty shower which is 8.5kw or above on a 6mm cable I will renew cable with 10mm it’s the right thing to do isn’t it.

    Another factor is not every household is off peak midnight till 7am and this causes problems with the heaters you need to alter the settings which isn’t straight forward you will have an error 4 message every morning if the heaters are out of sync with timing for off peak
