Morning everyone . Question regarding wiring of new circuits into plastic cu . I’m wiring an extension on a property soon . The consumer unit is under the stairs and it’s plastic it’s all rcbo Wylex board in good condition with a few spare ways . Probably the last of its generation before we...
Thanks for that guys I was more thinking about difference in potential between the tub and wet paving flags . The tub is plastic . But it’s the heater if class 1 that’s the issue isn’t it in the event of a broken pen
Evening everyone . Currently looking at pricing a job up . It’s a hot tub supply . Outside socket with a few spare ways in an outdoor cu . 10mm armoured cable on 45 amp mcb . To outdoor consumer unit . From there a 32 amp hot tub circuit and an outdoor socket all in armoured . The question is...
Thanks
I re tested this morning as I had other bits to finish off . I tested three times and it was 0.30 every time . It may have been my leads not being zeroed that caused the higher reading yesterday .
Thanks
It’s a 100amp
Main fuse not a rural area it’s on a min street . The pfc is 0.6ka so happy with that . All Zs readings are below max values . I’m just use d to seeing lower readings on a tnc-s system
Evening everyone .
I was changing a fuse board today . Everything tested out fine and good . Until I measured the Ze which is on a tnc-s system . The result was 0.36 ohms now I know the max value for tncs is o.35 ohms . What would you guys do in this event call the dno or accept the result ...
Yes it’s extraneous
And yes it continuous
I know it needs bonded it’s just the fact that if it’s bonded at the boiler it will do the same job as it would if it’s bonded in the gas meter .
evening everyone . Quick question here I’ve recently took over a job that a friend of mine first fixed it’s a 3 bed semi house rewire. I don’t usually do this but he’s recently folded he’s business because of a job he’s got so no longer registered. I know he’s workmanship is to a good standard...
boiler change isn’t relevant I was just thinking about it because I’ve recently had mine done and was wondering why no one bats an eyelid at paying top dollar for a days work for boiler swap . When a consumer unit swap is our equivalent. Anyway thanks for the replies was just trying to get a...
I usually use fusebox roughly 300 quid for all materials I was thinking along same lines to the day rate . I still think we are too cheap as sparkies though . Plumbers charge roughly 1700 up to 2k for a boiler swap materials will be 1k so they get a thousand pound for one days work which is...
Evening all . Just a quick question what do you guys typically charge for an rcbo spd consumer unit change 14 way . 10/11 rcbos few spare ways . New meter tails . All certified /notified
Cheers
Afternoon all. I’m doing a dorma / loft extension all circuits for that extension are new . I’m going to upgrade the consumer unit also to rcbo/spd. Now I took a switch off yesterday on the existing lighting circuit and noticed the twin and earth cable had a green goo inside the insulation when...
Thanks for that Tim . In the event of a tnc-s system for outside lighting . Would you still use the pme earth . Or TT the lighting install . Just for future reference if I ever needed it . Just thinking I can’t say I’ve seen many if any scenarios where people have TT lighting installation in a...
