    How do you mount a DC power jack on a wall?

    I have an outdoor CCTV camera that requires 12v DC to be supplied to it. To keep things neat, I've thought about mounting a DC power jack onto a blanking plate on the inside wall that the socket end of a 12v DC power supply can then plug into.     Anyone ever saw one of these cause a fire? Just installed cctv in my home and bit worried leaving it on when where out as we have a litttle pup....i have never saw one cause a fire but i am a very paranoid person!

    AC or DC power calculation

    Hi Guys, Is the calculation different when working out Power consumption of a ystem with a DC supply rather than an AC supply? I know P=I x V So i can do P = 2A x 230V AC But is this different with a 12V DC power supply??? Thanks in advance!!!
