Multiple Floodlights - Operating Strategy ??

I've had a customer today asking for 5 floodlights to be fitted around his property. He wants every light to be equipt with a PIR sensor and all lamps to be linked. This means that if any of the 5 PIR's detect movement, they will then operate all of the 5 floodlamps.Assuming that the (L1)...

Minimum start voltage & operating voltage

My latest customer asked me a goodun: He noticed from the SMA SB2500HF installation manual that its "startup voltage (adjustable)" was 220V but the "minimum voltage" was 175V. His question was why not make the startup voltage as low as possible so the inverter kicks in earlier.. I promised...

RCBO operating times

Testing a job yesterday and realised a couple of things, during the RCBO 1n and 5n tests in a lot of cases the 5n value was actually slightly higher than the 1n value,eg 1n=28.2ms 5n=28.7ms (?). Doesnt seem right that multiplying the test current x5 would have a slower tripping time (although...

Safe operating temperatures XLPE 90 degree vs table 4D4A for connected accessories
