I need to install ct metering to a submain and it requires a 10amp three phase mcb. I actually need to do this in two different locations for two different jobs.
think I'm having brain fade, but any ideas how I can mount this mcb off a 400amp busbar chamber without installing a complete three phase disboard.
seems stupid to install a complete board for one mcb especially when the smallest board is 4way... I don't have a huge space either, a 4way board would be tight...

This is what I'm proposing to re-arrange.

Bung the mcb inside an enclosure.

Whoever did that job originally needs stringing up! How on earth could they have ever been let loose on the tools in the first place?!?!?

Phage to agree with you there... It's a major job to put right as all the cables are very short, but they're only 185mm !!!

thats only the half of it... No isolation devices, no barriers, etc, etc...

Being really dumb now, but will just the mcb in an enc be ok? Must read through the regs, can overload devices be used as service isolators, or should there be a main switch be in circuit?

...... Reaches for regs book....

Depending on the bus bar system you can get "plug in" enclosures which you can mount a MCB in.
We have them feeding ovens.

In fairness, the 25mm tails off the busbar are just supplying ct metering at 10amp and a dual socket.
the 185's are carrying 460amp

my issues amongst many are the mcbs in an unprotected busbar chamber

No different to thousand of industrial cabinets throughout the land then...

Those busbars don't look anywhere near suitable for 460A, look more like 200A rated bars!!!

Agree with Mr D, that busbar panel looks like a complete pig's ear of a job, as does the other panel too!!
