Also remember manufacturers guidelines will state that only their mcb's should be fitted to their dist-boards so unless you can justify ignoring this regulation i wouldn't go down that road, you can justify it on occasion when a manufacturer makes a few different brands using same template thus identical mcb's dimentionally, Sneider owner of Merlin, Sq-d, telemecanique and Modicon do sometimes copy the mcb template across their different brands.
Yes i know other mcb's may fit but since the regulation stating 'manufacturers guidelines should be complied to' then this means the goal posts have shifted so doing so could contravene reg's
