Tt earthing system

12 way split load wylex consumer unit
100a
100ma time delay rcd

100a main cut out fuse

between the meter and consumer unit is a 63a cut out switch

what ampage should it be between the meter and consumer unit?
As the 63a will trip out before the 100a?

I had a leek from my bathroom and it came through the kitchen light and the 6a mcb tripped out or the 63a tripped out at various stages of turning it back on

sensible answers very much appreciated thank you

What size are your tails from the meter to the 63a switch.
I would expect the 6a to trip first, but as you know water and electricity don,t mix so really it shouldn,t have bypassed the 6a but eh! its a dead short so stranger things happen.

Hey.

I think the 63A "cut-out switch" is possibly an RCD?? this may be why it was intermittently tripping out when you were trying to reset.

If so then it isn't an ideal set up as all circuits are on one 30mA RCD.

Can you explain a bit more.

Cheers.

silly question is the 63amp a 30mA rcd ?

Is the 63A an isolation switch or an rcd. I didn't know that isolation switchs could trip. If it is an rcd did it trip as you were holding the 6A mcb in the on position. An rcd is works on a different principle to the mcb so could trip out before it. Does the main fuse , before the meter , not have a value on it ?
