hiya, it's not a lot of dosh, but what do you recommend for a multimeter of about say £50 ? any which I should avoid? cheers in advanced

The standard, every-day meter that you'll find most guys in the US using is the Fluke T5-600 or the T5-1000. Volts, amps, and ohms... just the basics. About 99 dollars in the US. I'm curious to know if they even sell it in the UK. It's a real workhorse over here. Pretty indestructible, and lets your keep your other nice, specialty meters safely tucked away for special use.

I have one in my toolbox, nice bit of kit! mainly use mine for voltage and clamp/ammeter but when it comes to anything else I also carry a fluke 73 multimeter
