I think you can look at reviews for working for them on indeed.com. only thing is reviews could be from accountants, managers etc, so not nessacerily related to sparks.
 
Have a look on a website called glass door for reviews.
Personally, if its a proper apprenticeship with proper qualifications and theres no silly fee to do it, id go for it. If you don't like the company, you can go else where in a few years time.
 
Is it Balfour Beatty Engineering Services? I have worked on a few sites where they have been the main M&E contractor. They are a big company but last I knew a few years ago they were laying blokes off who had been there 20 years. They are a proper set up and will most likely pay JIB rates so if I was you I would go with them if you get offered a job.
