Am I being silly here!
I am rewiring the flat for the owner who has just bought it (renovating it- to sell/rent it out)
how do phone lines work (I still live with parents!) - does it get cut when the old owners move out- then the new owner have to get bt to re-instate it? hence the engaged tone at the mo?
probably cut off when old occupants left. that means choosing a provider then they will reinstate the service.

OK, one more tip .Don't go buying electric cards to get the juice on empty properties unless you know you will get the money back from the owner.
You could end up paying a massive amount of emergency payments from the previous occupiers before you get the juice on.

stay where you are as long as the folks put up with you. it's a jungle out here, mortgage/rent/TV licence/sky subs/ house insurance etc.etc. . do your own washing and cooking. don'tmove out till you find a good woman of independent means who is also a good cook.

how do I 'confirm' this lol!

havn't done much bt tbh....

You don't.

Its down to the owner .... get them to talk to BT

As I stated earlier in the thread, don't go connecting any extra points until BT (or who ever) have confirmed the line is working and OK.
