Thanks for the reply. Coming from the gas industry I find it quite funny how the regulations are written in such a way that you could have a room full of time served experienced electricians, who will all interpret them in a different way! Has it always been like this? I am used to the bullsh!t talk in BS document's ( that's what the B S stands for isn't it?) but can't help thinking this document exceeds all the others for gibberish.

In reality is this something you use on a day to day basis when calculating circuit cable sizing, or do you all tend to work on tried and tested and judgement from previous experience?
