Cheap multitool blades

Bosch and Fein blades are really expensive. I was searching around to see if there were any cheaper and came across sharkblades. Anyone else tried these? They are about half the price but I wonder if they are any good.

I have used Shark Blades by going to their web site sharkblades.co.uk. They seem to be based in the UK and the blades are great. At £3.50-£4 per blade they seem cheap when comparing to the originals. EVERY LITTLE HELPS IN THIS RECESSION

Excellent post, I've been putting off buying some blades for my Bosch for a while now wondering where I could get them cheaper!!

I use an EINHELL multitool,just re ordered a pack of 10 Shark blades, (£40.00 + p&p of E Bay) , getting good longevity from them,and they do fit the Fein tool (Fein blades are £11.00 each round here !)
Stick to the 25mm wide blades,the wider bladesare harder to accurately control when doing precision work.

they were re building the post office when i dropped it off so you may need some new blades when it gets there btw i have your receipt i forgot to pop it in. will get in in an envelope for you

Just had a look at those multitool thingies on a website and they look damn handy. Can they cut through 4 inch nails and other metals as well or are they just for wodden skirting boards?

they can do metal as well mate. say if you have a piece of pipe sticking out of a wall redundant it will trim it flush.

As mentioned though, the blades are very strong, but go blunt quite quickly with any serious work - some of the blades are only good for wood, plastic and plaster, others are specified for soft metal aswell - ie copper and nails. Trying to recut or sharpen the blades is a fruitless exercise, in my opinion. A mate reckons he can get the teeth recut somewhere but for the price of these shark blades (which I haven't tried yet) I don't think its worth the trouble.

I bought some Sharkblades last week, gave two to my dad to test (he has a Fein I have the Bosch) he hasn't got back to me yet but when he does I'll let you all know.

He uses his quite a bit, now on his 2nd Fein, so his opionion could be useful.

I can't stand the cheap blades so try and get the bimetal ones that fit adaptors, German made so no oriental C*ap!

i bought bosch 230v model for 59 quid, only used it once was ok... i have maybe 60 new joists to notch for old cables , so might get a chainsaw

Ha! Just an alternative brand of blades that fit many of the power tools. We sell both these and the Bosch ones (don't want to put a link here to the site as not trying to spam!) they have some bi-metal ones and a set that a lot of our customers feel are good value for money.

PMF 180? The Bosch tools are great, lots of models depending on what you need it for. You've got your work cut out for you with 60 joists then!

Try Saxton Blades, seem OK to me

I've got the Bosch 10.8v Li-ion model, great bit of kit, so handy for many jobs, I'll have to try the shark blades. As previous people have said the blades don't seem to last very long.

i've been using saxton blades bought off ebay' cheap as chips and just as good as fein with a good selection of different types. go blunt if you hit a nail with the 65mm wood blade but then so do fein at nearly 4 times the price.

Recently bought some imperial blades from axminster which fit all makes plus the bigger the pack the cheaper they are.
