choosing my tester

hi guys im thinking of becomeing a domestic installer soon and have been looking at some test equipment,
im thinking of getting a Dilog 9083P Multi-function Tester.

anyone got anything good or bad to say about it

What have you been used to using in the past at college and on the domestic work you have done previously?

It may be worth sticking to what you know in the early days unless there's a massive advantage to owning the tester in mention?

yeh what ive been using to learn on.

i will need 1 if im going to be testing work.

it seems idea for me as its cheap and seems quite simple to use.

I just googled it

If it's what you've been using then it makes sense to carry on with that one.

I learnt on a Fluke mostly so I chose to follow suit until I understand testing in greater depth :thumbsup

I've been using a 9083p for 2 1/2 years now and it's never let me down, does exactly what it says on the tin..... keep some spare batteries though as it takes 6 aa's at a time. Great bit of kit for the price

Check out ebay as there's often some good deals - I got a barely used Megger for £300 recently!

I'm quite happy with my Metrel 300I.
As for using the same as what I learnt on, they don't make them any more

This is what you want to get. REAL electrical kit at a pretty good price too.
