Guys do any of you do contracting for companies or just purely solo priced up jobs etc.

I'm thinking of looking into contracting as I know it's easier than finding my own work and just looking for advice on things.
I am fully qualified 17th edition t&i etc etc just wanted to know where to start.

I'm north west based ideally Crewe, Northwich Areas?

Thanks chaps any information greatly appreciated

I found that it's a bit of luck and who you know, got a mate about 10yrs older than me who knows a lot of people and got me in on a subby job and it went from there. Same as everything your name goes round and loads of people are after me know. I've found that the amount of subby work I do has gone up from when I started on my own 4 years ago but I pick and choose now. Good luck pal

You could take the bull by the horns, and just ring up some companies, check local papers etc and keep an eye out in the 'electricians unite' on this forum. Have to agree with gnselectrical though. Have you registered as a subcontractor with CIS?
