Help!
Does anyone have a deta 20a mcb 6 or 10k. I’ve got a faulty 20a mcb that I’d like to replace so I don’t have to do anything more involved to split a ring main with open neutral end to end continuity.
It’s an old er version where the switch is black and the busbar splits around the bottom terminal screw.
I’m willing to if to pay if some one does.
Thanks

I seem to think I might have some of these, but can’t remember what size. Will they have to be 20A, or would the circuit be ok on a 16?

Ok… I’ve had a look in store, and I’ve got everything but Deta.

Anyone need an old MK, MK Sentry, proteus, M2, MEM/ Eaton, Wylex, Hager, BG…..

Is it the kitchen ring that's broken I can see a 16 in for kitchen sockets ,has it been made into 2 radials.

Thank you for trying

Currently two radials in the one 16a mcb whilst I wait for another 16 from eBay or preferably a 20. The broken neutral end to end can’t be found in any sockets or jb’s on the kitchen ring.

20 amp mcbs will be in short demand prob for that very reason

Out of interest, if you don't know where the N break is, how are you deciding where you split the live?

I don't think the live is being split by the sounds of it

Not only must the live be split, but the neutrals must be disconnected as well, at the sockets on the RFC either side of the break.

I hope that's not the case, or that professionals are assisting in it?

I changed an oldd rewirable wylex fuse board where someone had written on the front of a 30 am fuse holder "15 amp only " needless to say it was a 30 amp wire that was in as it was the only socket circuit in flat .(the live had popped out the cookerhood switch)makes you wonder why the regs don't do something about rewireable fuses.a leased tenant can easily upgrade a fuse wire to any size by nipping down to local shop but they can't change an mcb or are very very unlikely to do so.ive seen a 5 amp fuse wire been wrapped around the terminals several times because its so fiddely and someone has lost the rag .
