If you're a qualified, trainee, or retired electrician - Which country is it that your work will be / is / was aimed at?
United Kingdom
What type of forum member are you?
Electrical Enthusiast (Unqualified Hobbyist etc)
If other, please explain
Heavy DIYer
In 2019, I had a lot of renovation work done including a full re-wire of our three storey house. Before the re-wire was finished, we parted company with the electrician, how do we now get the work signed off, as no other electrician seems to want to take it on. I'm only a serious DIYer, capable electrically and have almost completed all the re-wiring - am I right that the work has to be signed off by a certified electrician, before we can even think of selling the house. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Not many sparks will sign off other people work, NICEIC does not let any body third party testing.
The only way is to get the LBC to have an EICR,but if it does not mean a building control will not part p the work.

trying to save money is just a dead end as you are now understanding, you need now to get a EICR, and even then it may not pass

Best speak to building control.

Hi again,
"trying to save money" doesn't really come into it. We parted company with the original sparky, as he was so unreliable.
