Just to inform you that EDF are still dragging thier heals with the applications prior to original December cut-off date!! Had my system installed 26/11/11. Sent all paperwork Special Delivery. Had a response.....blah,blah,blah done initial checks, all ok but if mistake found in later checks could miss out on higher rate! Rang them 16th Jan was told checks ok, contract would be sent prob another 4 weeks time. Rang today and was told that the backlog was still big and they are only now dealing with those who installed in the first week of November. So I'm likely to be another 6-8 weeks, then they will be over-run with the new cut-off date. Oh yes then we have to wait upto 90 days for our money. Huuuuh, Rant over!:38:

Just filling in my EDF FiT application so really hope I don't get a letter back in August informing me of a problem!

My application went in in November and EDF tell me they are going to miss the next reading submission month in March before I get my contract. That means the first reading that will trigger a payment will be sent in in June. Not good, so I've raised a formal complaint with them. If everyone in this position lodges a complaint they may find it desireable to get off their backsides before Ofgem start asking questions.

Perhaps I should tell them I'm very busy at the moment and delay paying for my gas and my imported electricity for a few months?

I have posted before, use good energy, if you are local to chippenham you can deliver by hand and have it checked while you are there..

What many people do not realise is that they are free to use anyone for there FIT, they don't need to stick with there existing supplier.

Indeed it won't be long before we will be seeing more than 3.1p being offered on the export tariff by some!

I realise that but not all will accept applications for FiT from people who don't currently buy some form of energy from them already.

I've just phoned British Gas and they're accepting non customers and will also let me drop the application form off today and have it checked and stamped. Considering I'm only 10 miles or so away from them in Manchester then this would be my best option. I'm not bothered about any late payments as long as they do eventually arrive.

My understanding is that the big six are legally required to accept anyone (customer or not), whereas the smaller companies have the freedom to choose whether to accept non-customers.
