My daughter, who is currently working in South Korea, wants to buy a hair styling product from there, and bring it home when she’s finished.

It’s a Dyson curler/ straightener, so not a cheapo brand… but as such I don’t want to say 100% it’ll be ok without checking with the “experts” on here. 🤣

The supply over there is 220V, and 60Hz… so not far off… but being Dyson, there could be some tricky electronics in there that don’t like the difference in frequency.

Is it worth the risk?

There's some indication on the Interweb (one post on Reddit from someone who did this) that a Dyson 'Airwrap' bought in South Korea will not work in the UK. That could be inaccurate or through a misunderstanding!
There's a link within the link below to a Dyson article on suitability of their products for different countries. They do point out that their warranty doesn't cover doing this!

The above suggests, on the basis of voltage, it would be OK, but wrt frequency, they don't confirm it would or wouldn't work!
Maybe there's something more authoritative out there 🤔

If it's a Dyson 'Corrale', apparently it should be OK.

I just read through those Dyson forums and have come to 2 conclusions.

1. The members there can be more argumentative than anyone on this one

2. They don’t have a clue about voltages.

I think I’ll advise against her getting one. They are way too expensive to void the warranty by going overseas.
