yer soz m8 did put up link but its already on other posts at bottom of here !
its about the wylex and volex recalls !
must be something to do with they both end in lex !
very reassuring to know both these well known players in the man/ind have issues with c.p.d's as well as other's inc some well sold cu's isnt it ?

Has anyone replaced any of these faulty mcbs yet? if so how does the process work? do you need to send Electrium a list of all your addresses and you go back and replace the mcbs and return the faulty mcbs back to electrium?

Thanks

More important are their any tests we can do with our equipment to discover which are faulty and which ones are ok when we are working on a property or do we just wait for the bang

Hello, l am not an electrician but a home owner (and mother) who almost lost my family over this last weekend due to a house fire. I am writing here because this issue needs to be taken seriously. We had a fire starting in our fuse box. I have had 3 electricians to our home since the fire and all have said the fire looks to be caused by the breakers (these were Crabtree Loadstar) the same ones that were recalled.
I am pregnant and also have 2 year old twins. The fire happened early in the morning (only time l will say this but...luckily l have small children who wake early) - had it happened at night, a few hours earlier l am certain it would have caused fatality. My family survived but please, please take this seriously and follow up and change any breakers you believe to be faulty as this can cause serious fire. I understand its your time and money/ business but life is much more valuable. thank you.

The company I work for has been doing these changes we have done hundreds of properties in the south east of England. Let me tell you I have removed at least 200 mcbs with the faulty date codes. Have a look at there website for more information. No not waiting for the bang but removing all mcbs with makes and date codes of effected batches.

I work for electrium, and its all the mcbs they buy from India, and tell you lot that they're made in the u.k

Out of curiosity, how much are you paying on average for mcbs, rcbos? I can supply them much much much cheaper. Siemens branded
