Been to a fish farm they need to replace all their lighting ,at the mo they have 6ft twin vapour proofs on chains , but due to the high humidity and salt , the fittings twist and the fill with water ,also the installation methods were no great ,they want all the fitting mounted at a lower level for ease of maintainance , so my idea is to use the starlux metal halide 100 watt bulk head fitting ,use stainless steel scres and the lid screws coat with silicone grease , the salt is unbelivable in this place and it literally on the coast by the sea too so any metal fittings are out of the question , they have big pumps with inverters which the inverters need removing and cleaning every 3 months just to remove the salt buildup from the atmospher ,any thoughts chaps

You could try boat fittings - dinghy wire with swagged ends instead of chains, could be made to make an upside down Y - these should be of the right grade stainless to cope with the environment

use IP washers with everything, and coat any seals with vaseline to stop them deteriorating. are the VSD's inside a panel?

yes they are but problem is the numptys that manufactured the panels put fans on the top of the units adittedly they have used cowels but i thought these should have been on the side or the bottom so its a difficult situation
