I am in the process of wiring our 50-amp hot tub in a new home build (6/3-WG NM-B from the panel to the disconnect). I have the option between two panels to feed power for the hot tub.

First is from the main 200-amp service panel (servicing the attached shop and house), which would have a 100' run to the hot tub disconnect.

Second is a 100-amp sub-panel I will be using mainly for the house, which would have aprox 50' run to the hot tub disconnect.

Guessing the best option is to connect the hot tub to the main 200-amp panel, so I am not taxing the 100-amp sub-panel. My only concern is the 100' length of run vs the 50'.

Thank you
Bill
