I’ve recently installed submain for a 2nd hand hot tub, with time delayed RCD at the main DB.
Both pumps on the hot tub work seperately but when both pumps are turned on together the hot tub trips bypassing the submain RCBO & tripping the main time delayed RCD.
The electrical installation has cost the client quite a bit of money, new upgraded DB and all RCBO's, 50m of SWA to submain clipped etc and test's out fine.
My guess is something within the hot tub electronics.
Hot tub engineer has been out and said the hot tub is fine, but the parts that the engineer has suggested to change just in case cost £800 !! which is weird as it tests out ok ??
Client is very happy with the work done to get to this stage, so before i go back to check and re-test, has anyone got any suggestions.
Possibly earth leakage from the pumps ?
25mm 2core SWA from main DB
63a MCB & 100a 300mA time delay RCD
SUB Main
Earth Rod's
100a Main switch
40a RCBO - Hot Tub
Thanks in advance
