they could always use the broken live kV end of the cable to push the illegals' boats back.
 
But read beyond the usual dramatic headlines and you see that only 7.5% of the UKs electricity comes from France, and the National Grid say they are confident they have enough in reserve for the winter.

Not saying we won't have any problems, but it's rare that things are as bad as the sensational headlines suggest.
 
Never went any further. It was part of a scheme for about 50 acres of solar panels, the rental income from which would have meant I never would have had to do a stroke of work again.
The firms that run these schemes plan several applications at the same time, and only go ahead with the one that presents the least problems/profit ratio, and we lost out.

Pretty much the same story. Confirms the 7.5% import and that the grid think they will be ok.
