Hello ladies and gents.
I am running the Great North Run. A 13.1 mile idiotic run. The reason i am doing this is solely on behalf of charity. The run takes place on the 12th September 2015, and i am aiming to complete it in under 2hours.
The charity i am running this for, will be unknown to 99% of you. It is a local charity which specialises in childrens brain tumours - both with support to children who are currently receiving treatment for brain tumours and also raising awareness about the charity, as well as raising money for research. The charity is called Ellie's fund. Ellie?s Fund ? Brain Tumour Trust
Now i did not know ellie personally, but she was well known in the area for her charity fundraising and unselfish attitude whilst battling her condition bravely. She has a lasting legacy around the Yorkshire region, which inspires me and many others to raise money in her name each year. Elliesfund originally started out as a scarborough based charity, but over the years has expanded to yorkshire & the humber and hopefully it will continue to grown and raise as much awareness as possible.
Now this is the part i hate, because i hate begging for money. But i have set up a just giving page, with donations starting at £2. Smaller charities often live in the shadow of the large ones, and thus don't receive the funding they need or deserve. Elliesfund is an officially registered charity and all details about that are on their website. I know times are hard at the moment guys, so I'm honestly not expecting a lot but every little helps. So if you've got a spare couple of quid, i promise you its going to a great cause.
