Handheld cordless vacuum

Hi Guys,

I do a lot of small domestic works & need a good cordless vacuum cleaner for getting dust off skirting boards & carpets etc. Been looking on the net but many of the reviews are a bit hit and miss. Would be really good if I could charge it in the van while on the move. Can anyone help?

I go for the dustsheet and/ or dustpan and brush approach myself.
Come across a few designed for cars all crap and even the dyson wasn't up to much.
Small mains pwered vac maybe?

If you have Makita batteries, they do one. Other than that dyson do a hand held but it's pricey. Why not buy a cheap mains vacuum? Won't take 2 mins to set up.

Thanks guys, I use a Makita cordless drill & driver so I'll go have a search. Might have a look at a small mains one maybe, I think Dyson do compact one.

The small Makita one is OK for small stuff, like catching dust when drilling holes for rawlplugs, but nowhere near as good as a mains job. For anything bigger I use a Henry which is fairly compact and easy to carry and has loads of suck. Handle on top, built in cable reel and short, so it doesn't fall over if pulled by the hose.
