Right need some advice done some work for a friend at a customers house my mate been knocked a good few thousand pound that was going to pay me
So at present I'm out of pocket am in my right to go round customers house and take out the fittings I suppled at put in as they are still Mine as I've not been paid for them or Is the law on their side
no false entry will be needed as the items are in the front garden

Ill always be able to get as it was electric gate work and still have a gate key fob
Was thinking of removing the control board for the motor so no electric gates
But the customer has told me it not there problem as I was working for the builder but have tried to explain I still own the goods as no one has paid me

Make sure you leave the gate open, not only will that mean the home owner can't complain that he's lost access, it'll **** him off as quite clearly if he's got an electric gate, he wants to keep "stuff" out!

you can't go in and get it, as they class that as theft, and in England they might throw in breaking and entering by unauthorised access to private property as well, and criminal damage.....this happens sometimes but usually from what I have seen it has been with buy to let landlords with a lot of houses and flats in their individual ownership, the only way for you to get your money is for your friend to go to the small claims court to claim to the maximum amount available there (only something like 1500 pounds max) as at least it will make the non paying individuals think about the inconvenience...they won't want a county court financial penalty judgement against their name if they work for themselves in any way, or if they plan on buying any more houses in the next 5 years that will need a mortgage or the likes... this is the only legal way to do it, I have heard quite a few times of this kind of thing happening but usually only big amounts where they know that the small claims court would be useless and the case would be a civil one and very expensive....for example 20,000 or 30,000 pounds and the likes....

As Nike say mate "just do it" get sick of hearing about txxxs that won't pay when you've done a perfectly good job,do it worry about it later like I have !!!!

As grantr37 says, No you can't go and recover them.

Search for Retention of Title in contracts, even if you had this it sounds like you supplied the service to a mate not the customer, your claim is against the mate not the customer.
