Anybody use these on a regular basis? Am thinking of buying one...Been looking on ebay, range from refurbed to New...plus the odd battered one at £200!!...

C&G 2330...Need to Practice LOTS!!! Electrician I'll be with does not do Enamel/Galvonised...Yet!

Cheers for any info Guys

we have about 5 of these in the company, only decent bender you can get imo.

only thing is so many people use them with so many different marks for bending it quite funny.

think they are about £200 ish new.

The Hilmor EL25 is the one most colleges use. It has 20 and 25mm formers and a nifty vice to hold the conduit whilst threading it. I looked a while ago on eBay for one as I thought about practicing for my exams but decided to just use the college one for a few hours extra (over a couple of breaks) and save the £150-£200 they go for second hand.

I think new they retail around £600.

Try not to worry about practicing too much, the hardest bend I found was from the CU to the wall, most other bends can be done with ease.

LOL
I was on to my Dad about this as he's an Engineer & he told me about the Wood Block...said it was much better than a bending machine...

May hire one for a W/end & crack it...
They are expensive. Couple of hundred on ebay...

Cheers Guys

I recently bought a Record Power conduit bender - BEM25, its the equivalent of the EL25 but I got it for a better price. I think they're fairly new on the market cos I got a brochure thing through the post at work.
From what I can gather they're cheaper than the Hilmor ones, but use the same spares and parts etc, including the formers and stuff. as well, I was told they're made in england but the Hilmor ones have been moved to China.

Anyway, hope that helps - I'm pretty pleased with it to be honest and it actually seems to be a better machine.

Also, it's about £200 less pricey than the Hilmor...that's what swayed me, specially as its the same quality if not better, in my opinion!

cheers
