Hi all,
Would be grateful if anyone feels their input would help me out!
Been to see a job today, massive 7 bed house on 4 floors: basement, ground, 1st and 2nd floor.
First fix has been completed by another electrician but I am told a falling out occurred and he has jacked the job in, so my quote is for second fix and install and test. I have spoken to the main man and said I refuse to sign off for the design and first fix, and he agreed and said the original spark will sign that off.
Now for the quoting. There are a total of 630 items to second fix, ranging from 128 downlights, 36 pendants, 75 wall lights, 132 light switches, to 112 double socket outlets etc etc. and obviously all the testing and cert.
The 3 phase incoming supply will go into the basement, so 3 phase board, L1 and L2 will go to 2 100A C/Us in the house, and L3 to an outdoor pool house.
It is a fair size job. I am allowing for 3 or 4 guys on 5 days a week, and ranging from around £200 per day for 2 guys, £140 for one and £80 per day for a gofor/labourer.
Do you think it is easier/more accurate to price on day rate or per item? They work out roughly the same at £30/item, and say £620 a day labour.
I would expect the job to take around 4-6 weeks depending any problems!
What are your thoughts?
Thanks,
Ed
