Hi I am just doing a renovation / upgrade on a small house and as kitchen plus all downstairs was on same ring final I have broken it up into a separate kitchen ring and downstairs ring and renewed best part of the cabling as it was really old stranded earth steel looking junk cable and not giving good test readings. I need to replace the main CU from a 3036 board and a separate garage sub board and also add storage heaters although not as many as client wanted as it was hitting over 90.5A just on store heaters !
I have hassles from DNO as they won't tell me upfront what size the service fuse is without submitting all loads I need to feed, and I need to ask if I have radials for say the garage skts do I apply diversity such as 1st ring final @ 100% and then 40% of all other ring finals and also 40% of radial wired socket outlets ?
There will be a ring in the utility room as there will be 2.5mm feeding sockets for a washing machine and a dryer but I know that the two are rated at 2.2kW ( washing is rated at 2.2-2.6kW ) can I use those figures direct as flc ? and such as upstairs ring may be calculated at 40% but most likely pull less than 5A most of the time.
