Hi all,

If you receive a message from @Dan or @Lou , it's most likely it's going to be a little bit of marketing... either from them directly (about their other projects or say a Merry Christmas or Happy New Year message) or providing information about forum sponsors and events they may be organising.

These messages are not spam, and unless I'm much mistaken you agree to receive them when you sign up for an account.

Please do not waste staff time by reporting them, all we'll do is tell you it's not spam and it's a message from the site owners about something they think you might be interested in. The latest one being the possibility of some free beer... who doesn't like that idea???

Thanks

You’ve said that “spam” word now…. You’re going to get quotes from Monty python for the next few days.

Are the messages about winning the Nigerian lottery also not spam???😄

Just bumping this as we've just received another report for the message.

If you don't want to receive the messages from @Dan and @Lou , I believe you can turn them off...

Click your username in the top right corner of the page - You should get a bit of a menu appear which should include a 'Preferences' option
Click the 'Preferences' option
Uncheck the 'Receive news and update emails' option
Click 'Save'

This should prevent you from receiving these messages.
